Who This Program Is For
This program is for adults who are experiencing the effects of trauma — whether or not they have been formally diagnosed with PTSD.
You do not need a diagnosis to benefit from this work. You need to recognise yourself in the patterns it describes.
- You react more strongly than the situation seems to warrant — and you do not know why
- You find yourself repeating the same relationship patterns despite wanting something different
- You feel disconnected from your emotions, or overwhelmed by them
- Something happened in your past that still affects how you function today
- You are waiting to see a therapist and want to prepare
- You are working with a therapist and want to supplement that work
- You are a mental health professional who wants to understand what clients experience
What Kind of Trauma?
Trauma takes many forms. Some are obvious — accidents, assault, abuse, disasters. Others are less visible — emotional neglect, chronic criticism, growing up with an unpredictable parent, losing someone you loved.
This program does not require a dramatic origin story. “Small t” traumas — the accumulated weight of repeated experiences that were not overwhelming on their own — can affect the nervous system just as profoundly as single-incident traumas. We will cover this in detail in Module 1.
Who This Program Is Not For
- In acute crisis or experiencing active suicidal ideation
- Experiencing severe dissociation or psychosis
- In an unsafe living situation where trauma is ongoing
- Using substances heavily as a primary coping strategy
This program is preparation and psychoeducation. It is not crisis intervention, and it does not replace professional care for complex or severe presentations. If any of the above applies, please seek direct professional support first.
Working Independently vs. With a Therapist
This program can be used either way. If you are working with a therapist, share your notes with them — the exercises in this program are designed to accelerate that work. If you are working independently, the safety guidance throughout the program will help you pace yourself appropriately.
